The North Side of Lake Howard is still one of the most diserable lakes and addresses to live on in Winter Haven. Especially if you like older style homes. A sign that you have arrived. Not everyone wants a brand new home. Some of us still love the character of an older home. This one was built in 1964 and is located next to the Historical Subdivison of Interlaken. Some try to say this one is located in Interlaken. Like the local HOA. But to be honest, it just misses by a block or so. But it is nice to think we have a place in Interlaken. My dream home in Winter Haven is just 7 blocks down road and is for sale. My wallet can't afford it though.
There is a wonderful boat house / dock down on the lake front and they are building the New Lake Howard Trail which is a walking / biking path that is suppose to go around the lake. They are working on it now. It also has a very nice large fenced in back yard with lake views and is great for smaller children to play in or a dog to play in. One of the larger open back yards you will find in this neighborhood. This property sits on .49 acres. There is alley access behind the house and there is a double gate back there so you can bring a trailer in or park a car. It also has a piece of lake front property with a dock and boat house. A great place to watch Sunrises and Sunsets.
There is so much history that can be traced to the shores of Lake Howard. It is a 624 acre fresh water lake and is the home to some nice large mouth bass. It is also a very popular lake to ski of because of its size. It is one of the larger lakes in Winter Haven, FL.
